Course Description:

Students develop an understanding of industrial hygiene terminology, principles, and practices by examining four key processes in an effective industrial hygiene effort – anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control. Discussions on when to use a qualified industrial hygienist are held throughout the course.

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to recognize and evaluate potential and existing chemical, physical, ergonomic, and biological hazards; employ general engineering and administrative controls; and conduct an industrial hygiene walk-through survey.

Who:

Safety, health, environmental, and management personnel with industrial hygiene responsibilities but limited training or experience in industrial hygiene.
