Who Should Attend?
Choosing the right person is critical. The ideal candidates possess
an operational background with the subject equipment as well as a
strong commitment to safety and the people skills needed to
interact and communicate respectfully with operator trainees.

Prerequisites
Trainees must have functional English language reading, writing and speaking skills.
Trainees must have experience using the equipment.
Trainees must be comfortable working with others.
Trainees must complete pre-program study materials.
Important Details:
Safety toe shoes and a high-visibility vest are required while working with the
equipment.
Appropriate outdoor clothing is recommended.
Operator credentials are not issued during this program. Successful trainees are
qualified as IVES Certified Trainers.
The program trainer cannot accommodate missed time. Full attendance is required.
Trainees who miss time or are unable to attend the entire program may not
successfully complete it.
No work is assigned beyond the established program hours. However, independent
study and preparation are encouraged.
Note: This program addresses Mobile Elevating Work Platforms. Trainees should
bring a personal fall protection system in good repair and consisting of an approved
full body harness and 3-4 ft fall restraint lanyard.
