People often assume employees who drive for work are well-trained. That’s not always the case. In fact, driving is the leading cause of work-related deaths each year. To address this reality and close an alarming training gap, the Oklahoma Safety Council has launched the Fleet Essentials training program in late Fall 2023.
The program provides a series of online courses you can use to educate employees who drive for work and ensure they make it home to loved ones each day. The courses are easy to access, concise and leverage the extensive expertise NSC has in defensive driving.
NSC Fleet Essentials is the only Fleet Driver training program with course content tailored to specific vehicles.
This program includes options for different types of fleet vehicles, including passenger vehicles, delivery vans, and
medium-duty trucks. Plus, the program features content on Vehicle Dynamics, Driving Professionally and Distracted Fleet Driver
What participants will learn
- What it means to be a professional driver, including the implications and added responsibilities of a fleet driver
- The unique demands and sources of distractions for individuals who drive in the course of work
- Strategies fleet drivers can use to minimize distractions while driving in the course of their work
- Vehicle dynamics, including physical forces such as inertia, gravity and velocity and how they impact vehicle handling
