Course Description:

This program is ideal for first responders, healthcare providers, dentists, dental hygienists, lab workers, police, EMTs, paramedics, animal handlers and custodians— anyone exposed to blood or other potentially infectious materials.

29 CFR 1910.1030 requires employers to safeguard employees who face potential occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. This course helps reduce these risks by focusing on how to protect employees from blood and airborne pathogens and what to do if an exposure occurs.

Course Includes:

  • Fundamentals of bloodborne pathogens
  • Essential information on hepatitis viruses, HIV, and airborne pathogens
  • Preventing infection from bloodborne pathogens

Participants receive a nationally recognized NSC Bloodborne Pathogen certification valid for 1 year.

First Aid, CPR, Child Care Classes, and Emergency Care Series:

Registration policy: Advanced registration is required. For a full refund or to avoid a rescheduling fee, notice of changes must be given at least 5 business days before the class. A $25 cancellation/rescheduling fee will be issued to changes made within 5 business days prior to class. There are no refunds on no-shows. We reserve the right to cancel a class in advance. In this case, NSCN will provide rescheduling at no fee.

Event FAQs

Does this class cover everything required by OSHA?

No. We do our best to ensure we cover as much as we possibly can, and while this course covers the basic requirements of the OSHA Standards, employers are still required to train employees on the hazards in their work environment and on their own in-house policies and procedures in order to be fully compliant.

What is the cancellation policy for this course?

All cancellation or rescheduling for classes or computer lab appointments must be made by 2:00 PM on the business day PRIOR to the scheduled class. Full course/lab fees will be assessed if registrant has not cancelled by the deadline.  Anyone who may be late should call to notify the training center. Anyone arriving late  without notification – will be assessed the full class fee.
